Brute Choir [broot kwahyuhr]

noun

1. a collection of dedicated musicians striving to perform classic and modern covers in a brutish style

Brute Choir have been filling pubs and rocking parties for over fifteen years. Formed from the ashes of other bands, the founding aim of Brute Choir was to have fun; no pressure, no agenda; and they continue to express this in their live performances.

The lineup has had few changes over the years, with any new members added filling the criteria of technical ability and personality fit. Greg L (vocals/guitar), Stuey C (guitar/vocals), David O (bass) and Dan G (drums) are strong, dedicated musicians who have put in the legwork; playing in a wide variety of different bands before coming together as Brute Choir. They work hard to perfect their songs with each member striving to play the best that he can play every time.

Their influences are many and varied and this is reflected in the wide range of songs that Brute Choir incorporate into their sets. Any fan of the sixties can expect to hear The Who, The Kinks or The Beatles. Their focus on the alternative seventies adds bands like The Jam and The Clash. Into the eighties, this diverse list continues with Duran Duran, The Smiths or Elvis Costello. Blur, Oasis and Pulp all receive the Brute Choir treatment from the nineties and as we move into this century, bands like Kings of Leon, The Killers and The Arctic Monkeys feature.

Brute Choir aim to please. They have a wide, diverse song list and an uncanny knack of making parties bounce and pubs rock. They are loud. They wont hold anything back. They will leave you with that warm glow that means you’ve had a great evening, and the songs will be ringing in your ears until you come back and see them again!
